Mrs. Kelly Yawn

Mrs. Kelly S. Yawn is a teacher at Kinchafoonee Primary School with 28 years of experience.  She taught kindergarten for 15 years in Worth County and has taught second grade for 13 years in Lee County.  She earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University, a M.Ed in Early Childhood from Albany State University, and an Ed.S. in Early Childhood from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Mrs. Yawn has been married to Joey for 21 years.  They have a son, Brady, and a daughter, Olivia.  Brady graduated from Lee County High School and Olivia is a sophomore.

Mrs. Yawn wants her students to love learning and be excited about going to school every day.  Laughter is a sound you can hear in her room daily.  Since second graders are still at the beginning of their school career, Mrs. Yawn tries to foster a fun learning environment that entices the kids to love to learn.  Humor is encouraged and embraced in her classroom.  Laughter can help alleviate stress and anxiety as it modifies the chemicals in the body.  Mrs. Yawn believes that students should have fun while learning and that laughter is the best medicine.

KPS is proud to announce Mrs. Yawn as Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022!
