Mrs. Sherry Exum

2019-2020

Sherry Exum is a 6th grade Special Education teacher at LCMSE. After working for with DFCS and Babies Can’t Wait, Mrs. Exum began teaching at LCMS in 2007. She graduated from Hawkinsville High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern University. She later received both her Master’s and Ed.S in Special Education from Valdosta State University.

Mrs. Exum and her husband, Andy, have been married for 18 years. They have 3 wonderful children, Matt, Emily and Kaitlyn, and a beautiful granddaughter, Emma. Mrs. Exum loves reading, woodworking, and traveling with her family.

Mrs. Exum has worked with families and children throughout her career, but becoming a teacher has truly been the most rewarding. She feels that teachers are given an opportunity each new school year to make a difference in many young lives, and that it is the responsibility of teachers to make that difference positive and rewarding for each student. Mrs. Exum strives each year to build relationships with her students, to understand their individual needs, and provide them the tools they need to be successful.
