The Lee County Board of Education is the governing body of the Lee County School System. The Lee County Board consists of five members of the community who are elected to staggered, four-year terms representing the five individual districts.

Policies
The primary role of the Lee County Board of Education is the legislation of the school system policies, which are executed under the direction of the school superintendent. Our policies are located here.
Trey Newell is a veterinarian at Westover Animal Hospital and has been a resident of Lee County since returning home from school in 2005. He believes strongly in the importance of a quality education for every child. He is married to Jodie Newell and has three children Asher, Sydney, and Kylie. He also has two dogs, Tito and Marley, and a cat Max.
Claire Lang is a Certified Public Accountant who is currently employed as an auditor in the Albany area. She earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is honored to be an advocate for the students and staff of the Lee County School System. She has been an active volunteer at the Lee County Schools where her children either graduated or attend. Claire is a member of First Baptist Church of Albany where she serves in the Children’s Department.

Mrs. Donna Ford is a former teacher, Principal and Curriculum Director, K-5 in the Lee County School System. She worked in the school system for 32 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in K-8 Education from the University of Florida, a Masters degree in Education and School Administration from Georgia State University and a Specialist degree in School Administration from Columbus State University. Additionally, she retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army serving as the School Liaison Officer on the Waynesville, Missouri Board of Education for three years. Her last assignment was in Washington, D.C. in support of Desert Storm/Desert Shield. She is married to Arthur Ford and has two sons, Steven and Robert. Both sons attended all grades in the Lee County School System graduating as distinguished graduates from both Lee County High School and Georgia Institute of Technology. She served the community as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is currently serving on the :Library Board and the Family Connections Board. Mrs. Ford has worked with children in the Whiz Kids and Literate Lee programs. She is a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church and serves on the Youth Council, teaches youth Sunday school and is the Chairman of the Church Trustees.
